Prickly

The air pricked the skin on my face today. It was a strange sensation and I stood there for a moment trying to understand where it was coming from. I could not see the reason but I could still feel it.

The air had frozen during the night, the result was a beautiful blanket of white frost that covered every tree and shrub. A haze hung in the air creating an ethereal feeling to the valley. It was on the verge of eerie but the overwhelming calm overrode the underlying edginess.

It was a day when I wished we lived in the country, so I could sit in a deep chair by the window; snuggled under a downy blanket, sipping the lukewarm remnants of my coffee just watching the world.

Isn't that the coolest weather phenomenon? I know it's not great for the plants, but you get such beautiful pictures!

It really was a strange sensation. And you're right, it was eerie.
